    Windwalker Group is seeking per diem Visitor Control Technicians (VCT) to work at the Naval Sea Systems Command Visitor Control Center, located at the Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC.



    ***If you cannot commit to this type of requirement DO NOT APPLY***We currently do not have available full-time positions. Our full-time positions are filled by technicians that start as PART TIME and ON CALL and become part of our team dynamic.



    • Utilize the government furnished Access Control System to issue internal proximity badges and code Common Access Card (CAC) badges permitting access into all controlled NAVSEA buildings/spaces located on the Washington Navy Yard. The VCT is not required to issue new CAC badges, only code them using Government Furnished Equipment.  VCT shall monitor the operation of badging equipment and notify the Team Lead and government COR of any problems.
    •  When providing customer service, the VCT shall conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner at all times. If an issue occurs, the VCT should not engage the customer directly. The VCT should immediately inform the Team Lead and if necessary, the Team Lead will notify the government representative (COR) of the issue. The Contracting Officer or the COR will resolve the issue.
    •  Check the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) to verify an individual’s clearance level prior to authorizing access when coding a CAC or issuing a proximity visitor badge.
    •  Code all CACs and a proximity visitor badge after the vetting process is completed, authorizing access into specific or all NAVSEA buildings and spaces, as appropriate. Maintain an inventory of all badge supplies needed for daily operation of the visitor control center.
    •  Maintain accountability for individually assigned proximity visitor badges issued each day. The VCT will receive a number of proximity badges each day that will be assigned to them by color code or number. Each VCT will be responsible for those proximity badges assigned to them each day. It will be their responsibility to ensure those badges are returned to them at the end of each day. In the event a badge is not returned at the end of the day, the VCT will notify the Team Lead, as well as contact the individual to whom it was issued and request that the badge be returned. If the badge is not returned, the Contractor shall report it to the Team Lead for documenting purposes. 
    •  Assist with providing visitor badges and support for any special NAVSEA Command events when requested by the COR or the Contracting Officer.
    •  Answer badging office incoming telephone calls and respond to caller requests in a timely, courteous and professional manner.
    •  Maintain a neat and orderly visitor station in accordance with the NAVSEA HQ clean desk policy.



    • All VCT must have a favorable security clearance eligibility determination in order to receive a JPAS account either by the date of Task Order award or the date the employee is hired, whichever is later. Additionally, eligibility cannot be out of scope (i.e. must be current).

    Access to Facility

    • The VCT shall follow NAVSEA HQ Command policies and procedures for entry and exit of the work areas and rules established for VCT use of premises.

    Customer Service

    • It is mandatory VCT wear business attire.
    • VCT will greet and acknowledge customers entering the VCC.
    • If VCT are not on shift assisting customers, they may not loiter at the desk.
    • The VCT should forward all complaints that may arise to the COR immediately.


    • The VCT Team Lead shall attend and support monthly Security Operations staff meetings when requested by the COR.
