Recent regulations have created opportunities for business and government to use drones.  As a Senior Program Manager you will play a key role in shaping the future of the emerging drone market.

     

    Windwalker Group, a fast growing, Boston-based firm in risk management, physical/cyber security and professional services is seeking an innovative Senior Program Manager to assist in formally launching a state-based project that will lead to regulation and policy refinement on drone operations and autonomous airborne systems cybersecurity.  You will support a state agency in developing and promoting strategy for incorporating long-range UAS into state operations. The candidate will provide senior level support to the state's transportation agency. This will be a multiyear effort.

    Responsibilities

    What I will be doing?

    Take a leadership role in the following phases of the project:

    • Provide program management to emerging state project, including managing project budget and project controls encompassing cost, risk, schedule, requirements and quality performance
    • Ensure assigned projects are delivered on time and within budget and scope.
    • Promote project mission and achievement of projects to stakeholders including media, state department of transportation, state legislature, universities, military bases and federal agencies
    • Identify project risks and follow risk management procedure
    • Implement procedures in accordance with Project Management Plan
    • Facilitate internal transportation agency coordination
    • Perform project audits as required
    • Prepare scope of services as needed for procured services

    Qualifications

    • Some expertise in the UAS domain, preferred, or general aviation experience
    • Experience in setting up a project office within a governmental agency
    • Excellent communications skills; ability to plan and conduct effective meetings. Ability to interact effectively and professionally with persons from diverse cultural, educational, socioeconomic, racial, ethnic and professional backgrounds
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus
    • Experience in making public presentations
    • Ability to perform well under pressure and tight deadlines that can come with crisis situations
    • 10 years+ of relevant experience
    • Strong interest for Technology-related topics 
    • Ability to develop a good understanding of the Civil Drones policy issues, how they are linked and impact each other
